Renovation Boom

Market Supervision Administration data reveals that this year's home improvement and kitchen & bathroom "renovation" orders have exceeded 50 million, with the new category of intelligent toilets increasing by 3,000. The number of used-to-new orders for kitchenware on the JD platform has increased by 50%.

The "used-to-new" initiative is increasingly prominent in the home consumption sector, with kitchen & bathroom and furniture as key growth categories, continuously releasing market consumer vitality.

Consumer Complaints Rise

The China Consumers Association released the "2025 First Half Year National Consumer Association Organization受理投诉分类基本情况" on August 6th. In specific product complaints, home furniture complaints reached 19,760, a 36.79% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the complaint data of various product categories, home electronic appliances and real estate & building materials are among the top ten complaints in their respective categories. The home electronic appliances category has the highest number of complaints, reaching 120,133, with a complaint ratio of 12.06%, up 1.2% from the same period last year. The real estate & building materials category is in the seventh position, with 14,995 complaints, a complaint ratio of 1.51%, up 0.04% from the same period last year.

According to the service category complaint data for the first half of 2025, home renovation and property services complaints are in the ninth position, with 10,042 complaints, a complaint ratio of 1.01%, down 0.32% from the first half of last year.

Export Decline

The China Customs released the "2025 July National Export Key Commodities Quantity and Value Table" on August 7th. Among them, the export total of furniture and its parts in July was 35.05 billion yuan, and the cumulative export total from January to July was 271.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.

Home appliances, with a July export of 376.1 million units, had an export total of 59.55 billion yuan, and a cumulative export of 2.589617 billion units from January to July, with a cumulative export total of 411.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.2% in export volume and a year-on-year increase of 0.7% in export total.

Beijing's New Home Purchase Policy

The Beijing Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Commission and the Beijing Housing Provident Fund Management Center jointly issued the "Notice on Further Optimizing and Adjusting the Real Estate Policies in Our City," which will take effect from August 9, 2025.

The Notice clearly states that Beijing households and non-Beijing households with social insurance or personal income tax contributions of more than 2 years can purchase unlimited numbers of houses outside the Fifth Ring. At the same time, the Notice also clarifies that the purchase of commercial housing for single adults is subject to the same purchase restrictions as residential households.

IKEA Joins JD.com

On August 4th, JD.com announced a cooperation with IKEA, with the official IKEA store on JD.com opening on August 8th. The store currently lists more than 6,500 products across 168 categories, including furniture, textiles, tableware, storage, and home decor.

This collaboration not only involves platform入驻 but also includes package delivery by JD Logistics, as well as the integration of the two companies' membership systems.

Founder of Huangchao Home Leaves Office

Recently, Huangchao Home issued an announcement that Mr. Xie Jinpeng has resigned as Chairman and Executive Director of the Board due to health reasons, effective as of August 4, 2025.

After the resignation, Mr. Xie will no longer serve as the authorized representative of the company. The Board further announced that Mr. Zheng Chengjie, the Company's joint company secretary, has been appointed as the legal procedure agent, effective as of August 4, 2025.
