Graphene: The Material Revolutionizing Daily Life

   Pencil on paper, a light stroke might "draw" several layers of graphene. This nearly invisible single-layer carbon atom sheet, how it has transformed from a laboratory's accidental discovery into a Nobel Prize winner, and quietly changed our daily lives.

   Graphene is a two-dimensional material formed by a single layer of carbon atoms. A 1 millimeter thick piece of graphite contains about 3 million layers of graphene. It is the thinnest, lightest, strongest, best conductive and thermal material, and has the highest light transmittance among the emerging materials. 01 The Birth of the "King of New Materials"

   In 2004, at the University of Manchester in the UK, Andrey Geim and Konstantin Novoselov used ordinary tape to repeatedly peel off graphite, obtaining a thin sheet consisting of only one layer of carbon atoms - graphene. This seemingly simple experiment overturned the traditional understanding of the physics community that "two-dimensional crystals cannot exist stably at finite temperatures," and the two scientists won the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics.

   For more than 20 years, this "miracle material" is moving from the laboratory to industrialization. 02 Industrialization Challenges and Breakthroughs

   Although graphene is known as the "King of New Materials," its path to industrialization has not been smooth. Since 2010, the concept of graphene has been over-hyped, and the quality of products on the market is mixed, making it difficult to distinguish between true and false.

   However, the turning point came quickly.
