Global Sanitaryware Leaders - Roca Tops the List

Recently, the international authoritative industry magazine Ceramic World Review officially announced the 2024 list of Global Sanitaryware Leaders (The world's leading sanitaryware manufacturers). The list shows that the Spanish century-old company ROCA Group has topped the global list for the seventh consecutive year with its robust global layout and strong production capacity advantages, further demonstrating its leading position in the global bathroom market.

Under the backdrop of the global economy facing both challenges and opportunities, why can Roca continue to lead? What signals does its recent globalization layout send to the industry?

Global list revealed: Roca leads, multiple international brands on the list

The annual ranking by Ceramic World Review covers multiple dimensions of core indicators such as production scale, corporate revenue, and technological innovation, enjoying wide recognition in the industry and is known as the "barometer" of global sanitaryware production capacity.

In 2024, Roca Group topped the list with absolute advantage for the seventh consecutive year. According to statistics by MECS, a statistician entrusted by Ceramic World Review, the production of Roca Group in 2024 was approximately 23 million pieces (2400 million pieces in 2023), maintaining its status as the world's largest sanitaryware producer. As a global leading bathroom enterprise, Roca Group owns brands including Roca, Laufen, Celite, Parryware, Jika, and Ying Bathroom. With a total of 78 factories worldwide, including 7 in Spain and 71 in Europe, South America, North Africa, Asia, and Oceania, the business covers 170 countries and regions, with an export ratio exceeding 80%.

These production bases not only undertake the localization supply tasks but also form a collaborative effect of technical sharing and capacity complementarity, able to quickly respond to market needs in different regions. Especially worthy of attention is that Roca Group's leadership is not a single-dimensional production capacity advantage, but also its business revenue and market penetration rate remain at the global leading level. The consolidated revenue of the company in 2024 reached 1.948 billion euros, demonstrating its "size and quality" development characteristics.

In addition to Roca Group, there are also many domestic and foreign bathroom companies on the list of Ceramic World Review. Among them, Kohler of the United States, TOTO of Japan, Geberit of Switzerland, and Duravit of Germany, all have annual output exceeding 10 million pieces; while companies like Lixil of Japan, Duravit of Germany, Huidia Sanitaryware and Arrowhead Home of China, Dexco of Brazil, VitrA of Turkey, Rak Ceramics of the UAE, Cersanit of Poland, Lecico of Egypt, and Turkuaz Seramik of Turkey, the output of their sanitaryware is between 4 million to 7 million pieces.

These well-known global bathroom enterprises jointly constitute the backbone of the global bathroom market, and this list also clearly outlines the leading advantage of Roca Group in the global bathroom industry.

Continuously deepening global layout, building global competitive barriers

As a century-old enterprise spanning three centuries of development, the Roca Group, established in Barcelona in 1917, has always combined production layout with market demand. The reason why it has led for seven consecutive years is not accidental but rather the result of decades of in-depth globalization, constantly improving the global industrial layout.

In recent years, the global merger and acquisition pace of the Roca Group has明显 accelerated, and it has focused on the high-end market, segmented track, and technological reserve for precise layout. For example, in July 2025, the Roca Group completed two major acquisitions within a month—first, acquiring the Australian high-end faucet brand Phoenix, with its headquarters in Melbourne and three production bases, which has consolidated Roca's local service capability in the Oceania market; then acquiring the majority stake of the Italian high-end design bathroom brand Antonio Lupi, known for its customized bathroom furniture, which injects new vitality into Roca's high-end product line with its unique design language.

Looking back at the Roca Group's M&A actions since the beginning of 2024, in addition to Phoenix and Antonio Lupi, the Roca Group has also acquired German Innotec Systemelemente, Swiss Nosag, Polish IneoCare, and Italian Idral of different types. A series of acquisitions has also strengthened the Roca Group's comprehensive product coverage network from residential sanitaryware to commercial projects, from mass market to high-end customization, from basic fixtures to health care products.

In addition to acquisitions, the Roca Group has also actively invested in the construction of new factories worldwide to optimize the supply chain. Notably, in June 2025, the Roca Group announced the investment of 70 million euros to build a high-tech bathroom factory in Kyzylorda Oblast, Kazakhstan. The factory is planned with an annual production capacity of 500,000 pieces, with products to be sold in the local market of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries, aiming to turn Kazakhstan into its industrial, technological, and commercial center in Central Asia. This move highlights Roca's attention to emerging market potential and its profound understanding of regionalization of global supply chain layout.

Of course, Roca Group's production capacity layout is not just simple scale growth, but also integrates environmental protection concepts and technological innovation. It is known that all of Roca Group's production bases worldwide practice sustainable development strategies, and thanks to its outstanding environmental performance, the Roca Group has won the EcoVadis Platinum Award, achieving the coordinated development of production capacity and environmental protection.

In the Chinese market, Roca is also one of the foreign bathroom companies to enter the Chinese market early. In 1997, it had established production centers in Guangdong and Jiangsu, and laid out in the Chinese market. Deeply rooted in the Chinese market for nearly 30 years, Roca not only integrates the Mediterranean lifestyle products, scenarios, and concepts of Spain into the contemporary Chinese context of life, creating a better life for Chinese consumers, but also has become a trusted brand for consumers and brought global leading technology to the Chinese bathroom industry, promoting the upward development of the Chinese bathroom industry. Roca has repeatedly expressed a high degree of confidence in the future development of the Chinese market and will continue to increase its investment in the Chinese market, and will deepen its presence in the Chinese market in the long run.

Leading the world for seven consecutive years is both an honor and a successful practice of Roca Group's globalization strategy. Facing the common challenges in the industry, Roca chooses a more proactive path: through precise acquisition integration and forward-looking production capacity layout, constantly reinforcing the city wall. Its actions also reveal a trend to the entire industry, that the competition in the future will no longer be a single product competition, but a comprehensive competition based on global supply chain resilience, comprehensive solution capability for all product categories, and precise grasp of segmented markets. Looking forward to the future, the "dominance" road of Roca Group is still accelerating.
